The movie I chose to do my poster visual analysis on is Saving Private Ryan. Saving Private Ryan is by far my favorite war movie, because it captures the true harsh reality of war and the countless sacrifices that were made to not only defend our country, but defend other nations as well. The movie also captures the true brotherhood soldiers had in war and really raises your emotions through certain scenes as you begin to think that these events actually took place.
1. I posted two movie posters, but the main one I am going to focus on is the second one to the right. Looking at the image, you first notice the lone soldier staring into the distance with other soldiers faces fading in the clouds. The color of the poster is very light, as high definition was not around during the making of this movie, but the color it has helps create the older time look most people think of.
2. The creator of the poster wants to draw attention to the lone soldier by himself, possibly Private Ryan, with the soldiers in the clouds being the rescue team looking for him. The creator also is trying to show a message of brotherhood among the soldiers in the cloud.
3. The intended audience is action movie seekers and history lovers as well. The ad ask the viewer or consumer to care about the troops, because often people do not understand that freedom did not, and still does not, come free. The unfortunate price for this freedom is the lives of soldiers fighting these wars to protect us from danger.
4.  The technique the creator uses to reach viewers is the war setting in the picture with the soldier dressed in uniform to show it is a war movie.
5. The first element that grabs my attention is the lone soldier standing by himself. This grabs my attention because I begin to think why the soldier is by himself and when I read the title, "Saving Private Ryan", I begin to question if he maybe is lost or being held alone.
6. There is no slogan on the movie poster, but the movie title being in all undercase makes me think there must be a reason for it, such as to keep simplicity or spark curiosity.
7. Mainly what is being show is a lone soldier along with the faces of other soldiers faces fading in the clouds. A slogan is missing from the movie poster, which makes it hard to understand the poster, but I believe it does help spark more curiosity about the movie.
